Researching Food Allergies
M-SIBS will follow children from before they are born until they turn 3.
The families in M-SIBS will partner with us to learn why some children develop food allergies.
Now Enrolling!
We are enrolling pregnant women whose child will have a first degree relative with allergies.
To be eligible for M-SIBS you must:
Be pregnant
Agree to come to study visits in Ann Arbor when your baby is 5 months old, 1 year old, 2 years old, and 3 years old
Have a family history of atopy: Atopy is a fancy word for allergic conditions. Here we mean that the baby's biological mom, biological dad, or a full-sibling has any of the following:
Atopic Dermatitis (eczema)
Food allergies
Allergic Rhinitis (seasonal allergies, hay fever)
Asthma
M-SIBS is a family study - biological parents and full biological siblings are needed so we will have a better understanding of how our genes change our risk of allergies.
